Differences between SP0+SP3 and SP0+1+2+3 & SP1+3 & SP2+3...

This is just a factual analysis continuation of the question of what happens when service packs are integrated (slip streamed) in succession on top of each other or the latest SP alone is integrated.

I can start by saying there are many differences, and here they are; but i do not know yet what the ramifications are of these differences.

There shouldn't be any ramifications, it just tends not to clean out obsolete files, like SPx.cat/SPx.cab. Even Microsoft's image contains obsolete files, but they aren't referenced anywhere in the INFs so they are ignored by setup and take up space:

Yes, big SPx.cab|t files...! It looks like SP2 creates or updates your other listed files (except plugin.oc_), however, SP3 does not...

How did you confirm that these files may or should be deleted without ramifications?

Those compressed files aren't referenced in dosnet.inf or txtsetup.sif.

There are newer remote desktop files on the disk that are used. Example, mstscax.dl_ was replaced with lhmstscax.dl_, but lhmstscax.dl_ is still extracted as mstscax.dll. mstscax.dl_ is obsolete. Plugin.ocx was made obsolete in a security update released for SP2 (KB912945).

mmc.chm is extracted from mmcS.ch_.
