romadoor Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 I've had great luck with Nlite installing XP, But now, I want to automate the "format drive" aspect. I Have a C, D and E partition. I want to format C, ONLY, and leave D and E alone, as this is where I keep saved music and pics. I know NLite cannot do this without help from another software. I have BartPE and Win AIK, But I am new to both of these programs and for the life of me cannot figure out how I can use them to help format C: Drive only. Can anyone help a beginner to these programs to format C: only. I've messed with both of them for days, searched every where on internet, but can't figure out how they will work with NLite? My partition sizes are already configured, so just format C: only. Can anyone make it simple for me?
Kelsenellenelvian Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 Its actually VERY true and not a limitation of nLite but UA installs theirselves. When you automate the partitioning proccess XP will just grab whatever drive it wants (Usaully the first one, but can be others if an existing OS is present) and format it then BOOM all info is GONE! (Been there done that ) lol
Ponch Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 I don't really get the two replies Anyway this is not a question about nLite but about XP unattended so it should be moved. Search for "BartPE" in that forum and you'll already get lots of hints. Formating C: and launching winnt32.exe should not be very difficult.
