I was able to remove everything EXCEPT "Remote Desktop Connection

Hi,

I've had no trouble removing everything from nLite but my install has one flaw....

rdc1.png

This is the ONLY thing I've been unable to remove.

As you can see there is nothing else installed.

What can be done to fix this problem?

Also, I want to remove Remote Assistance.

Hi Richard,

I can't find the option in nLite to remove it... what section is it listed under?

RDC is removed when you take out Terminal Services (which is another name for Remote Desktop), but... that means you lose both sides (being a remote desktop server, and connecting to one). Terminal Services is listed under "Services" (as the name would imply) if you want to go that route ;)

I had to leave in terminal services, because Windows Desktop Search relies on Terminal Services in order to run at all.

I want Windows Desktop Search, but I don't want Terminal Services. Is there any way to just remove the Remote desktop stuff Only but still use Windows Desktop Search?

I checked using XPlite and it's the same thing. Remote Desktop is under Terminal Services. I guess you can just delete mstsc.exe and the shortcut.
