Tripredacus Posted March 9, 2009 Posted March 9, 2009 (edited) I'm piloting the Windows 7 Beta (Server 2008 and Vista SP1) OPK Tools (similar to WAIK) and have noticed some issues. While using the PE Tools Command Prompt to mount WIMs to mount points, I am seeing a progress indicator while mounting. Also, it takes 10 times as long to mount and unmount a WIM now. Also, the mount point seems to react very slowly, taking a number of minutes to view folder contents. Has anyone else experienced this issue?EDIT: moved to Beta forum. Had brain fart. allanf Posted March 10, 2009 Posted March 10, 2009 Hi Tripredacus,The speed depends on the Operating System and the tool version. The Win7 tools under XP are particularly slow, and also not supported. I experienced sporadic errors when unmounting, so returned to the WAIK 1.1 (released for Vista SP1).The Win7 tools were noticebly quicker when run under Windows PE 3.0 (Win7beta), but still nowhere as fast as the older tools.Regards
Tripredacus Posted March 10, 2009 Author Posted March 10, 2009 I don't remember seeing any system requirements for them. Does the new version require Vista and Server 2008? I have it installed on 2003 x32 at the moment, perhaps that is the problem then.
Tripredacus Posted April 2, 2009 Author Posted April 2, 2009 I forgot about this thread. I went back to 2.1 on the 2003, and installed the Windows 7 Beta tools on a 2008 x64 server I made just for it.
