Which windows in newer and better 2003 or 2003R2?

Windows Server 2003 R2 is the fully patched version. There are several security problems with 2k3 that they fixed with the service packs that are included in 2k3R2. I am not aware of any advantages to going with 2k3 instead of 2k3R2.

Go with 2003 R2.
