FireGL V3100 has dual monitor support, can I add a 3rd LCD

hello fellow msfn-ers!

I have a friend who has a dual LCD setup with the above mentioned card.

both LCD's are connected via VGA

one connected to the VGA connection

the other is connected to the DVI using a DVI to VGA adaptor

Would it be possible to get a Y-Splitter for the VGA connection and get a 3rd LCD connected or does he need a 2nd VGA card?

Yes there is, Matrox has it's Tripplehead2Go in a VGA and DVI version. I think that Tain (super moderator) still uses the VGA one.

puntoMX so you're saying the only way is to get a matrox card or that box? adding a y-splitter to one of the 2 outputs might not?

No, not a Matrox card, it's indeed the box that splits the signal over the 3 screens, so, your video card will see he box as a monitor itself, the box just splits it onto 3 monitors after that.
