kobe Posted February 12, 2009 Posted February 12, 2009 (edited) Hi,I used to disable the Windows File Protection with the option that nlite has. But now, I updated to SP3 and I and more users have the problem that "Disable WFP" does not work and I tried to patch, crack and f*** the file sfc_os.dll with no results.Surfing the net I found this curious thing and it worked for me, maybe could fix the WFC problem.By other side, there are some folders, when you nlite XP (I do not know if happens with other Windows), that are empty, useless and a psychological obstacle for me and, I think, it would be good that the next update will solve this. The folders are:"%PROGRAMFILES%\ComPlus Applications""%PROGRAMFILES%\microsoft frontpage""%PROGRAMFILES%\movie maker""%PROGRAMFILES%\msn gaming zone""%PROGRAMFILES%\netmeeting""%PROGRAMFILES%\Outlook Express""%PROGRAMFILES%\Xerox"I am not an english-speaker, sorry by the mistakes Edited February 13, 2009 by kobe
JimmyJazz Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 I second this request. WFP drives me nuts. I like the overall concept versus the old reality of DLL Hell, but they really should have included means for an administrator to manually override it.Surfing the net I found this curious thing and it worked for me, maybe could fix the WFC problem. How did you get around the need for "a kernel debugger attached to the system via null modem cable?"-jj
