[solved]IE7 doesnt work intergration XPsp3

Featured Replies

The problem has been solved in this thread http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=129217

Hi~all.

i got serious problem with IE7 after its intergration to XPsp3.

I use nlite 1.49, and

the original M$ official XPsp3 ISO image, and

the IE7 .exe installation file from the M$ official website.

I did not remove too much component or services.

The intergrated ISO file works, and the modified XP can be succefully installed, except that

there was one error promotion during the installation procedure:

"icfgnt.dll missing"...

but after I clicked the OK button, the installation goes on quite well.

After the installation, if I click on the IE icon, there will be an IE window comes out within a very short time.

The IE window flashes and it disappears immediately.

Could anyone please help to solve the problem?

Thank you very much!

timminn, please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Also, please use a normal font. See this post. Your missing dll is probably why IE7 does not work. You should be using nLite version 1.4.9.1. In the future, you should really search before you post. Enjoy, John.

Oh...I hope you do not mind the font too much because it is my first post.

The version of nlite which I used is 1.491.

And I have actually been looking through the post you gave in the link to tried out all the methods but none does help.

So I think it is some mysterious reason caused by nlite.

I have done the following:

Only to use nlite to change the official MSDN XPsp3 with user name and default log on user only, and nothing else.

No hotfix, no integradation, no driver, no removal, no any other change.

But the icfgnt.dll missing error pops up in the middle way of installation.

And the worst thing is, I cannot even start IE6 after this installation.

The last session.ini is attached, please have a look. Your kind help is appreciated.
