neuropass Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 hello guys, i would like to change the vista defrag option in control panel to be opened by default with my defrag application instead of the vista defrag...But i can't find the right path in the registry... Anyideas where it could be located..?Thanks in advance for your help guys...here the screenshot to make you understand better my idea...
Tripredacus Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 One option is to backup (or rename) the original Defrag program. Then put in your other defrag program into system32, and rename it to the name of the Vista one. That would at least fool Vista into opening your program instead, since it only opens a file and doesn't check anything else.
neuropass Posted January 15, 2009 Author Posted January 15, 2009 thanks i tried it... i create a shortcut of my defrag app, then i renominated it in dfrgui.exe and put it back in system 32... but i got the error above....

neuropass Posted January 15, 2009 Author Posted January 15, 2009 thanks for your reply dude... i'm using a 64 bit OS... the defrag app is perfect disk and it is 64 bit ... Could it be the problem because of the shortcut...?
