spacesurfer
might be a driver issue as a physical system has to load more drivers than a virtual system.

spacesurfer
I had a problem with a CD-rom drive not being recognized on boot. It took 5 mins before it booted. After removing it, solved the problem.it can take as long as it wants, basically. check your event log - that's where i found the problem that the cd-rom drive was faulting.
