aubsmm
Hi all I have previously created a slipstream sp2 with extras with nlite which worked fine now I have been trying to do a new sp3 for 2009 but xp just acts like a standard install whatever I do it doesn't even copy the $oem$ directory to the hard disk let alone parse the winnt.sif its doing my head in because I cant see anything wrong! So if anyone has any ideas would be most welcome.I will elaborate on the setup. The $oem$ folder is at the root with $1 as a sub-folderthe winnt.sif is; Generated by nLite 1.4.9.1[Data]AutomaticUpdates="No"Autopartition=0MsDosInitiated=0UnattendedInstall="Yes"[unattended]UnattendMode=FullUnattendedUnattendSwitch="Yes"OemPreinstall="Yes"OemSkipEula="Yes"FileSystem=*WaitForReboot="No"NoWaitAfterTextMode=1NoWaitAfterGUIMode=1DriverSigningPolicy=IgnoreNonDriverSigningPolicy=Ignore[Display]Xresolution=800Yresolution=600BitsPerPel=16[systemRestore]MaximumDataStorePercentOfDisk=10[GuiUnattended]EncryptedAdminPassword="No"AutoLogon="Yes"AdminPassword=*TimeZone=085OEMSkipRegional=1OemSkipWelcome=1[shell]CustomDefaultThemeFile="%WinDir%\Resources\Themes\Zune.Theme"[Components][userData]ProductKey="xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx"ComputerName=*FullName="Aubsoft"[RegionalSettings]LanguageGroup=1Language= "0809"[Networking]InstallDefaultComponents="Yes"I still get the eula with this, just like a standard install! The file is standard ansi coding.the setupp.ini has the last three digits of the pid as 270 which is the same as the sp2 version that works. beats
WINNT.SIF must be placed in the i386 folder, are you sure you put it in there? And in your unattended section, the path to the OEM folder is missing. It should be like this:[unattended]OemFilesPath="..\$OEM$"
johnhc
aubsmm, please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. You should not have to modify your winnt.sif file and nLite should place it in the correct place. Make sure you always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. You should set OEM Preinstall to Enabled in the Unattended section of nLite. Enjoy, John.
aubsmm
Yes the winnt.sif is in the i386 folder, I will try adding the OemFilesPath and see if that makes any difference.I started with a slipstreamed sp2 adding 3 to it along with afew hotfixes. I do have quite afew session ini's by now but here is the last one attachedLAST_SESSION.INI
johnhc
aubsmm, as I stated in my last reply, you must slipstream only ONE SP. I don't know what kind of havoc two will cause. And also like I said, you should not need to poke around in winnt.sif. OemFilesPath is not defined in my winnt.ini and I use the $OEM$ to place several files/folders in several folders - works fine. Enjoy, John.
aubsmm
I have only slipstreamed one sp i.e sp3. Started with an existing sp2 install and slipstreamed in 3.
johnhc
aubsmm, sorry, I misread your post. I can only suggest at this time is to try without skipping OOBE. Good luck, John.
