I am building a installation DVD of Microsoft Vista Ultimate and Home premium how doI change the boot and logon screen? Is it like XP? John

mount install.wim, go to mount location\windows\system32\imageres.dll

open with restuner or reshacker

open folder image

I changed all of these images to the one I wanted. I just saved them as different sizes as needed. Use photoshop or gimp or whatever to edit your images. Also, not sure if it's necessary, but I named my edited images the same as the originals, 5031.bmp, 5032.bmp, and so on.

edit: images are .jpg not .bmp

I am a little bit confused as same stuff found in boot.wim also. I edited winpe only and it works fine.

:thumbup Has anybody edited the winload.exe.mui or any other mui files on the vista cd? If so, can I change the font by adding a "font line" using reshacker or restorator? Or will it make Windows not load? Also, how do I "Slipstream fonts" in vista or do I need to, in order to see the fonts on the boot screen? John
