Tutorial: What are the proper overclock settings for Geforce 5500?

Featured Replies

Hello. I have Geforce 5500 256 MB 128 Bit AGP for almost a year now, using it at 4X in Intel 845.

I have searched many times, experimented many times using different driver version and found:

The latest driver version 175.19 are the best for this card.

The best utility for OC is EVGA Precision http://www.evga.com/precision/

The proper frequencies are : Core 290 and Memory 429. There will be asymmetry with any above frequency, as i checked multiple times with UT, 3D Mark 2001.

Asymmetries include bots getting very fast even at easy diffculty levels -> means that video card is sending wrong info. My card came with 270 and (200/400) as all these cards. Its made by inno3D.

I am non-Professional in Computers, so forgive my non-technical terms. But the info provided has been tested by me multiple times. Thanks.

I think this should be moved to hardware discussions. Personally I do not know anything really about the FX series of graphics cards as they were mostly BAD. So I am unsure of the proper settings but try asking under hardware.
