i cannot find bluetooth or card reader support. i tried "bthprops.cpl" on RUN and checked services.msc but it had no bluetooth service. i tried loading an SD card...it loads with the mouse hourglass icon but nothing appears. i checked "my computer" and it didnt show up.

did i remove a certain component required for bluetooth and card reader support? arent they already built in xp because i was reading online that bluetooth was built in sp2.

if both arent built in xp, will simply installing the drivers for bluetooth and card reader work (add hardware), or do i need to do a full install (run setup.exe)?

1. Is your XP SP3 cd an original (MS) cd ?

2. Have you installed all your chipset/mobo drivers yet ?

1. its xp gold + slipstream sp3

2. i integrated the entire driverpacks.net set. i didnt add any other drivers. everything (except bluetooth and card reader) is up and running.

... if slipstreamed with nLite, are you sure no component were removed in the process ? (some people like to slim down a lot).

yo...the last session file (on my first post) lists the components removed.

Ive had a similar problem tho I still aint solved my bluetooth issue yet but I have sorted the Card Reader one.

If you look around on driverpacks.net and look for one of the admins called Overflow in his siggy there is a tool called HWID's this program will scan your system and show you all the hardware ID codes in your system in Notepad which you can then save and attatch here for us to look at. Also by seraching for the first of an ID you can find the needed drivers you are missing.

Yea, I could see that, I read the 1st post before answering. Because it's christmas I'll retry.

You went from Gold to SP3, then from SP3 to a system that has no Bluetooth nor Card Reader support. Are you sure that is not removed in the 1st step ?

Have you tried installing your SP3 cd and see if Bluetooth works ? As to be sure the problem comes from the nLite modifications.

ok i found the answer. i solved the card reader thing.

my laptop comes with a bluetooth switch but no actual bluetooth card inside. in other words, i have a useless bluetooth switch that doesnt do anything and just wastes space.
