rfwdwork Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 (edited) I have a cad program that I downloaed the update for and was wonder if I could use a ingrator or some other program to integrate the update into the original program? The reason is that if I should ever need to reinstall program then if I could integrate the update patch then the program would be already to go when it is installed, and I don't have to search for and then reinstall the update patch. Any suggestionwould be welcome. Edited November 26, 2008 by rfwdwork
IcemanND Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 it will depend upon the installation file type, MSI, NSIS, etc.
rfwdwork Posted November 28, 2008 Author Posted November 28, 2008 As far as I can tell, both files are .exe files. does that help?
IcemanND Posted November 28, 2008 Posted November 28, 2008 the exe likely expands ot into something else. Check out the software installation section of the unattended guide (http://unattended.msfn.org/) and see if you can determine which installer was used to create it.
rfwdwork Posted November 28, 2008 Author Posted November 28, 2008 Thanks for the information, I'll look to see what kind of install er was used, tonight after I get home from work. Thanks again.
