Replacing broken "shift" key on Dell Inspiron 6000

The key broke off but I can't figure out where to get a new one. I looked around Dell's website, and when I tried to email them or chat with them to find the right place to buy a key, it wouldn't let me because the computer is out of warranty.

Where would I go to get a new shift key?

probably have to replace the entire keyboard. I doubt youll find a single key for sale.

i have never dealt with those merchants before. I just found them in a search.

but hinestly, ebay would be your best bet:

Why don't you just buy a new keyboard from dell? Call them. It's like $20... I replaced my wife's Inspiron 9300 keyboard and got a spare one at the same time. Shipped puro to my house next day cost me less then $50 for both.

Thanks! I went ahead and bought a single key on eBay for $6 and installed it myself. It took me about 10 minutes but was not that hard.

Thanks!

glad to hear that bro
