Problems with .Net on XP x86

Hi all.

I have been a long time user of nlite, but only just started to work with integrating .net and so on.

The integration works fine, and I get no errors at any point.

Even the test installation worked great after nlite was done, BUT...

.Net Framework 3.5 is fully integrated with language packs, INCLUDING 3.0 SP2, but Windows update want me to install an OLDER language pack for .Net 3.0.

... which fails as a newer one is already present...

I even tried manual install of the language pack, but that fails as well...

When I make a disc WITHOUT .Net 3.5 then I am told that .Net 3.0 is not even installed...

Can anyone come with a good idea as to why the problem shown in my attached picture is present? AND give me a solution?

I just discovered I have the same problem with .Net Framework 1.1

I have found a solution, but it's far from optimal...

This is what I do with a RunOnce:

  1. Install .Net Framework 1.1 (although it's already integrated I DO have to reinstall, otherwise my language pack fails)
  2. Install .Net Framework 1.1 Danish Language Pack
  3. Install .Net Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1 (KB867460)
  4. Install .Net Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1 Hotfix (KB928366)
  5. Install .Net Framework 3.0
  6. Install .Net Framework 3.0 Danish Language Pack
  7. Install .Net Framework 3.5

Now Windows Update behaves like it should.

What I don't like, is that it's moret han 300Mb extra files on my CD (which is actually a DVD now).
