engert100
Here's something interesting i discovered today. On my unattended vista, i have all the drivers and all my applications inside install.wim file. Today i slipstreamed more updates for office 2007 and added other applications and my image (that was previously 4.3GB) grew to 5.3.This image does not install on the hard drive anymore, you'll get an error.I hate to install applications from the network shares, but it looks like i have no choice.Anyway, just thought this might help someone somewhere. Tripredacus
It doesn't help if you don't post the message it gives you. There are several threads about Vista install DVD size issues. engert100
Didn't know about the split command. Interesting. The error that you get is: Windows is unable to install to the selected location. Error:0x80300001

engert100
If i decrease the size of the DVD from 5.3 GB to 4.3GB, then i don't get this error.
Tripredacus
Did you make your WinPE with 32 or 64bit? How much memory on the computer?
engert100
Did you make your WinPE with 32 or 64bit? How much memory on the computer? The unattended image i'm working on is a 32-bit Vista with SP1 integrated. By WinPE, i hope that you mean the boot.wim file which also is 32bit.Now, the system that i'm using to work with with this image is XP 64 bit.I don't thing these are related to anything since when the image is decreased lower then 4.3 GB then it works fine. If you go 1GB higher i get the above error.8GB of memory on the computer. Edited November 19, 2008 by engert100
