Clicking and back button issues

Hello,

I am currently having an issue with the back button, actually it happens with any click of the mouse. When ever I click the mouse or the back button it goes back 2 pages/sites or more, not the previous one. This happens with everything internet and programs I am using. I did install IE7 and that is when I noticed it , (but have since uninstalled it). I have run the antivirus, spyware and adware removers, and still no improvement. Any suggestions?

I have XP Pro

IE6 with service pack 2

Thank you

Amoss, I don't think your problem is related to viruses. I didn't have the problems as you said when I used IE7. Now I am using IE8 (beta 2) and it also works fine. Why don't you try it to see if the error can be solved? I got it from here:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...;displaylang=en

Or, use this link if you use a downloader:

Hi,

OK, I'll try to download beta IE8, see if that helps. I am talking about the back arrow, or if I click on almost anything it takes me to a differnt page not the one intended, and it seems to be very sensitive, if I close my browser, it sometimes picks up on a desktop icon undr the browser. This is really strange, it acts as if I have a virus, but none of the programs are picking up on it if it is..

Amoss, actually, I have IE8 for using Maxthon, my favorite browser. But my sister always uses IE when she is surfing the net on my computer. And she says it works very fine.

I am glad that your problem has stopped. If it didn't, I would have to tell you to change the mouse! And it would be a bad advice, I think.
