Find Not Working in MS Word 2007

I tried to use the find feature today and it just sits there and does nothing to find a known word. Any ideas as to what my problem may be?

maybe u misspelled the word?

if its a program bug, i would think only Microsoft could fix this , did u try searching their knowledge base?

but it works fine for me.. is your copy legit? did u run out of trial time?

If you hit CTRL+F and check the extended part of the search function, you may find that the program is searching for a certain format. Sometimes this happens to me when somehow the program starts going haywire and doing things on its own, searching for words in a certain format.

I went back to using my old Winword 2003, this was one of the many reasons.
