LEKFIR
Hi,I have a flash disk that contains WinPE. My system first boots to the flash disk.WinPE formats the disk, applies an image and restarts. What I am trying to do is that AFTER that restart, the new operating system will load and not the flash disk. How can I perform that? Thanks! os2fan2
The usual trick here is to include BOOTFIX.BIN in your system, or to put bartpe into a bootloader that default-loads the normal hard drive.
WreX
I just leave the normal PE image alone when it comes to the "Press any key..." button on boot so I don't have to worry about auto-booting to my CD after applying the image. I haven't played with USB drives, so I don't know if that prompt is automatically included, but if you don't mind hitting a key the first time you boot it seems viable. Atheros
from what i know about flash drives it appears you have it running in HDD or FDD emulation mode. So if the first boot device in the BIOS is your UFD then it will be booted everytime no matter what. the only way to get round this is to change the boot order in your bios or to install a boot manager on the UFD that selects IDE/SATA0 as boot after timeout as mentioned by OS2FAN2.
