dubsdj Posted September 20, 2008 Posted September 20, 2008 Hi does anybody know a way of getting Nvidia control panel to see my phillips television all of the time? Its really strange because it has no logic, it just seems to detect the display sometimes but then other times it cant detect the additional display...I am often having to unplug the cables and plug them in again just for the TV to be detected... Surely there is a more efficient way or a bit of decent software out there that can detect the display every time... Just seems a bit hit and miss... I know the TV is connected because like I say it works sometimes and Nvidia detects it, but only when it feels like detecting it, there is no logic to this problem.. anybody experience this before and know a solution?I have a GForce 8800GTX Graphics card2 DVI inputs, one goes to the LCD and one is converted to HDMI and goes to the Big screen in the living roomThanks
GrofLuigi Posted September 21, 2008 Posted September 21, 2008 Just seems a bit hit and miss...It's very broken in latest drivers. Tried many of them and couldn't get it to work consistently (most of the time, the options for selecting TV system and/or connector are not displayed). But I'm "lucky" that I have a very old card so I can go back to 9X.XX series. Otherwise, I see people are sticking wires into the connectors and what not...One possible solution to get control of the TV out was to revert to the old Nvidia control panel, but I couldn't do it in the latest versions of the drivers, even with the "SedonaDisable" and similar registry tweaks. Search for that, it might work for you.Otherwise, the latest nvidia drivers also remove support for overlay!!! So if you're not gaming much, you'd better stick to oldest version of the driver you can find that supports your card.(My experience is with plain S-Video connector, so it may be different with HDMI).GL
Tripredacus Posted September 22, 2008 Posted September 22, 2008 I've only had this problem when switching to different displays or drivers for those displays.
