gendouhydeist Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 (edited) alas ive finally manage to get it work! ive already mounted it and also unhide the packages (BTW wnuku finally updated his work). So how I'm gonna save the list of packages on to log file and also how can i remove it? I'm really excited about the outcome. Thanks For The work guysand about the UAC its kinda buggy, Windows Gadgets doesn't work when UAC is Turn Off, and i dont like the overwriting windows gadgets with vista gadgets, cause its not transparent at all.Update:got it work hurray!!! ive try to delete printer driver package and its works like a charm, any list of packages out there that can be remove? now the problem is how will i save the packages on to the log fileUpdate:Ive finally generate list of packages using clip command, now gonna tinker itI'm getting confused about ~amd64~ thing, do you think its OK to remove amd64 based packages? cause my processor is Intel Pentium Dual Core, and all packages are ~amd64~ and btw it is x64 windows 7Package_Lists.txt Edited January 9, 2009 by gendouhydeist

adfad666 Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 A few days ago i did a very basic vlite to remove extra drivers, tablet pc, media center and languages to install on an Aspire One netbook with a 160GB HD (box said 120 but hey )It works extremely well, RAM usage is about double of the pre-installed XP, it's normally hovering just below 500MB. I can confirm that it's definately as quick as XP on the Atom processor, and now when I switch to XP (dualbooting them) it feels like I've booted into the stone age. Kind of like the feeling when you first got aquainted with XP after living with Win9x.Anyway, I've had an error when it comes to activation. slui.exe fails due to SCARDDLG.dll is missing. unfortunately I've already deleted my .iso and the vlite settings, but I'm fairly certain I didn't remove anything else other than mentioned above.Wether this information is useful or not to anyone I don't know - after all I may have removed something else and I've simply forgotten - but I thought it was worth mentioning in case it is.So for now it's back to the default install, I didn't notice any performance differences between this and a regular install, i just tried it to free up a bit of space
