Vince4Amy
I would like to set up a Windows 98 Machine for Business use. (My Application Visual Accounts will not run under WINE On Linux and I don't want to spend money on a Windows XP License as the machine is used for this one program). Anyhow after I've initially set up my 9x machine I will connect it to my workgroup, but then remove the keyboard, mouse and monitor.I will then use the machine Via a remote desktop application (Does TightVNC work without a keyboard and mouse on the Client PC)? I haven't used 9x for a while so I'm wondering if this will actually work?
awergh
i think so though im not sure, though it will probably complain on boot about no keyboard or mouse but i think i remember vncing into a 486 with no keyboard or mouse but im not quite sure
BenoitRen
You'll need to boot it without a mouse at least once to check to checkbox that makes it not tell you about no mouse again using a keyboard.
submix8c
Also, won't swear to this, but the BIOS needs to be set for ignoring No Keyboard (the monitor is a given in any OS).

Mijzelf
I have an antique PC (486/25, 16MB) running W95OSR2 as printerserver. It has no keyboard and mouse attached, and I can manage it via UltraVNC. This has been running for several years. In the BIOS you'll have to switch off 'stop on any error'In msdos.sys change AutoScan=1 to AutoScan=0In date and time applet switch off daylight saving. In mouse applet remove all mice. UltraVNC will use it's own.
