Hi there,

I'm new network member,so please help me to know this case. Also, can I use IP to determine what is client.

Answer: You should never have 2 devices on the same network segment with the same IP (at the same time).

i believe if you ping an IP address, then do an arp command, you should be able to get the name resolution for that address

well as rendrag said...never have 2 computers on the same network segment at the same...time...you will have problems...ip conflict and you won't feel so happy.

but with the client question...any computer can be a client..eg when the network is peer-to-peer then both pcs are clients and servers if not then i hope you know the one that accesses resources on the other pc is the client.
