ProfNuke Posted July 31, 2008 Posted July 31, 2008 Hi, I got XP on my PC and before I install Vista I wanna add the newest patches and remove some features.so I don't have Vista yet on my pc. Running Vlite tells me, that I've got to install AIK. but AIK is only for vista and win08! Is there any possibility to run vlite on xp (and maybe without installing a 1,5GB kit)?thnx!
Master_T Posted July 31, 2008 Posted July 31, 2008 (edited) I have the exact same problem, last time I used vlite (I think it was version 1.1) it worked without any addon or patch, but now it's really acting strange. It first asked me for a dll to be put in the vlite root folder, which I did, and now it's asking to install the "WIM filter", but if I click install, it just gives an error. On the same box, there's a link that brings you to a microsoft download page where there's a 1.x gb download of an ISO file... don't know what it's supposed to be, but it's only for Vista or WS2008.... but I am using good ol' XP, so I couldn't use it anyway...... what's happening???? Master_T Posted July 31, 2008 Posted July 31, 2008 Ok, figured it out, you have to install and run v 1.1.6 first, as it includes the filter installer, then just overwrite it with the new one.
user1313 Posted July 31, 2008 Posted July 31, 2008 Another way is downloading this filehttp://rapidshare.com/files/133842704/unpa...folder.rar.htmland unpacking it to vlite folder. It's what's REALLY needed from 1.5 GB WAIK
