This file can be seen if we starup xp in safe mode this string will be shownmulti(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partation(1)windows\system32\image.sysand another file also as below shown.multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partation(1)windows\system32\disk.sysmulti(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partation(1)windows\system32\intelid.sysmulti(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partation(1)windows\system32\hal.dllmulti(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partation(1)windows\system32\ntoskrnl.exemulti(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partation(1)windows\system32\ntkrnlmp.exeetc...how can i unregister a file that is also placed in statrup.. Mr Snrub Posted July 13, 2008 Share Posted July 13, 2008 Is there a reason you don't want the drivers installed, do they cause a problem?If you know they came from installing Nero, then uninstalling the product should remove the drivers.If you really want/need to prevent the drivers from loading and know their names, you can look at this article, ignoring the bits about making a parallel Windows installation.But make sure you have a system state backup, as if you edit the wrong value you may make the machine unbootable.
