July 7, 200818 yr Well the ulitmate computer is no mere consumer thingy. I forget the name of it but on the news a while back 2001-2003 ( I forget since I don't cont anything after 2000 ). There is a group of people who connected a hundred smaller computers together to make one big one in order to break the record of the fastest computer.I beleive it wented Gigaflops and was in the area of Tera's compared to super computers built by IBM for the goverment and the Earth Simulators in Japan that predicts the weather.I have allways wanted to do such a thing but lack the obvious know how and more importantly the money to do so. Basically all you need is an regular PC you can find off the street and link there CPU together. However the thing I worried about is power issue However I am using a Celeron consumer computer from about 2000. What I need would be a something that could go 4gigs to boost my machine. I am not looking for anything in terms of special effects.
