jiveformation
Hi all,Sorry, this question has been asked before by GrandMstrBud on Mar 31 2007, but I wasn't able to find the answer:After installing my HFSLIP'd XP SP3, In Windows Security Center, I see the options for managing "Internet Options" & "Windows Firewall" but no "Automatic Updates." Is there a way to bring it back? Thanks for the great tool guys!Cheers.HFSLIP.7z
Tomcat76
Can't see anything wrong in the log. What is 12CPRODEV_setup.msi? It isn't handled by HFSLIP.Are there any errors in <drive>\WINDOWS\setuperr.log on the system on which you installed the new source?I think that the problem is that the Windows Update Agent dlls weren't registered. Registering them manually may fix this but that doesn't say that there aren't any other problems.Try removing the addons.
jiveformation
Thanks Tomcat,12CPRODEV_setup.msi was in there by mistake. I've removed it.c:\windows\setuperr.log was empty.I'm not sure which dll's need to be re-registered.I tried removing the addons, but that didn't help; Automatic Updates icon still missing from Security Center.I removed all the Windows/Microsoft Update stuff:HF\WindowsUpdateAgent30-x86.exeHFCABS\legitcheckcontrol.cabHFCABS\muweb_site.cabHFCABS\MuCatalogWebControl.cabHFCABS\MUAuth.cabAnd that has fixed the problem. I'll try to narrow it down later. Thanks again!
Tomcat76
If those files are responsible it can only be WindowsUpdateAgent30-x86.exe. Download it again to make sure that the one you had is not corrupt.
mane63
I have same problem with SP2 and SP3. It seems that WindowsUpdateAgent30 causes the problem, without it Automatic Updates icon is in Security Center. Is it possible to fix this problem? My source is XP Pro Finnish.
