CCleaner and Win98SE...

Featured Replies

I use the CCleaner registry cleaner (without save backup :blushing: )... and many programs now don't see the cd-rom... LIKE Nerodrivespeed or Epsxe (an emulator!) How can I fix the problem?

You might try removing the CDrom drive from the device manager and rebooting. It should be auto-detected. *Might* fix the issue.

Restart in MS-DOS Mode.

Run SCANREG/RESTORE

Select the oldest date available and restore.

If you still have one backup from before the CCleaner, all will return to normal.

If not, well, you're out of luck: a major reinstall awaits you...

Good luck!

Ooh, looks like you screwed up your ASPI layer. That happens alot.

Now, let see, there's a compatibility ASPI layer from Adaptec linked somewhere on this forum...

Oh yes, it's in this thread. The download link is here.

You try install ASPI Adaptec ASPI 4.71 alpha 2 - http://windows98.ic.cz/media/aspi4712.zip or http://www.adaptec.com/en-US/speed/softwar...i_471a2_exe.htm
