I have two drives on my Dell XPS 410. The top drawer is the one I use for game CD's and such. I thought the other one always showed up in My Computer as DVD Drive, but it doesn't any longer.

I put a CD in that DVD drawer last night to create a Bootable Rescue Media for my Acronis True Image 10 Home program. It ran and ran and I finally decided something must be wrong so I aborted and shut down. Tonight I went into My Computer to see if anything at all had recorded on that CD and that drive doesn't even show up and I can not eject the disk. Can anyone help me? Is there a place you can stick a paper clip or something to make the drawer open. I've looked and can't seem to find anything.

There should be a small hole in the front right below where the drawer opens to stick the paperclip in. I haven't seen a drive yet that doesn't have that hole, and believe me I've seen plenty of CD drives. As far as the drive goes it sounds like the drive's dead. Looks like a trip to wally world to get a new one, or if it's still under warrenty have Dell replace it.
