Pro L1 64kb x2 L2 256kbI have Asrock K8NF6G-VSTA Motherboard and am getting a choice to choose which CPU i will use un this motherboardplease help me choose the better one.Sempron has SSE3 and the Athlon doesn't, does it matter or whats the disadvantage of having SSE3? joe43wv Posted May 23, 2008 Posted May 23, 2008 I'd go with the Athlon, it's a better quality CPU and faster speed. Sempron is used for light weight work, but when you have options like this I say go with Athlon and you won't be sorry.

Zxian Posted May 23, 2008 Posted May 23, 2008 SSE3 is only used by some programs, and for the most part, isn't a "make or break" feature for a CPU (unless you're running OSX). In your case, I'd go for the Athlon64.
