johnhc Posted May 18, 2008 Posted May 18, 2008 In testing (VMware Server) an nLited DVD I made, I found there was no Quick Launch taskbar and no IE7 shortcuts in the Start Menu. Even the Quick Launch folder was missing from my C:\Documents and Settings\user\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer folder.Clearing the Tweak on the Taskbar (Taskbar-Lock the Taskbar-Yes), fixed the problem.Insight would be welcomed. Thanks, John.

johnhc Posted May 21, 2008 Author Posted May 21, 2008 Ponch,Thanks for your reply.I am not looking for a method to enable the Quick Launch bar. I am trying to ask simply:When I select yes or no for the tweak 'Taskbar-Lock the Taskbar', should it eliminate the Quick Launch folder and remove the IE7 shortcuts from the Start menu?Does nuhi look at these bug issues here or should I place them some other place? Thanks, John.
Octopuss Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 Resurrecting. Was wondering about the same thing and came by this thread.
johnhc Posted June 23, 2008 Author Posted June 23, 2008 Octopuss,Do you have a missing Quick Launch Bar including missing Quick Launch folder?I am not sure now what is causing the problem. It seems to be random. I am running XP x64 Edition and using Kurt_Aust's process to install many of my applications. At the end of his process he forces a Reboot which sometimes kills some system processes that are configuring IE, OE and other MS applications. I have stopped his Reboot and have not seen the missing Quick Launch, but I have run only a few installs (on VMware Server).I would appreciate hearing what you think.Enjoy, John.
Octopuss Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 I do have the folder. But I have to manually enable quicklaunch after every install for some unknown reason. Testing without touching the lock option now.
johnhc Posted June 24, 2008 Author Posted June 24, 2008 Octopuss,I have always had to manually enable the Quick Launch Bar. I'd just assumed that that was the way it worked. I looked through nLite for a Tweak or Option to automatically set it enabled but could fine none. Please let us all know if you find out how to automatically enable it.Thanks, John.
johnhc Posted June 24, 2008 Author Posted June 24, 2008 Octopuss,Look at this thread concerning enabling Quick Launch:Here.Enjoy, John.
