DigeratiPrime Posted May 3, 2008 Posted May 3, 2008 First can you try burning with ImgBurn (freeware) to see if this is a problem with Nero. http://www.imgburn.com/Have you modified your drives firmware? Is the media compatible with your drive? Are you using new discs?
caber Posted May 4, 2008 Author Posted May 4, 2008 I tried with ImgBurn already. When I start the writing process it goes fine, but at a particular point it just gets stuck there.I didnt do anything to the firmware (dont know what its good for ) Im using a new batch of CD-Rs from Sony, but I never had this problem with my other Sony CD-Rs
DigeratiPrime Posted May 4, 2008 Posted May 4, 2008 I noticed you are burning at 24x, using multisession, a Samsung SH-S182F IDE burner, there is some "invalid ATIP data", SPTI I/O, NeroError(-1135).http://www.google.com/search?q="NeroError(-1135)"Try updating your drives firmware:http://www.samsung.com/me/products/optical..._w/sh_s182f.aspDownload 'Nero DiscSpeed' (freeware), open the 'Disc Info' tab, goto 'File>Capture to file' and upload the screenshot.http://www.cdspeed2000.com/download.html
caber Posted May 4, 2008 Author Posted May 4, 2008 When I downloaded the firmware update, it showed me that I have the latest version already (SB02) but I installed it anyway. Here is the screenshot from DiscSpeed:
Ludwig Von Cookie Koopa Posted May 5, 2008 Posted May 5, 2008 For some reason Xp/2000 NTFS system does not use the same functions as Windows 98. This is what I beleive what might be the problem. However it could just be the writer program itself. Also burning at fast speeds or even reading fast is never good for aged products. I would do what I was doing until my alcohol was deleted in a crash leaving it unable to reinstall. Use another program with a ISO/ Nero image file you produced in NERO and burn it. The only problem is if you have no space then the ISO will be there to use in any program that can read it. There is also this fireburner I keep hearing about also.
caber Posted May 8, 2008 Author Posted May 8, 2008 I managed to burn a CD using a different media, so in the end it was a media problem. Thanks to everyone who helped.
DigeratiPrime Posted May 8, 2008 Posted May 8, 2008 thanks for informing us caber, glad we figured it out!
Ascii2 Posted May 21, 2008 Posted May 21, 2008 I managed to burn a CD using a different media, so in the end it was a media problem.Or that the media for which problems were encountered is not correctly supported in firmware.
