Hello I have a friend who has a TOSHIBA laptop and when trying to do a clean install of Vista and it will not detect his HDD's. Here is his everest report

There are instructions on how to get this working so thats not what I am asking...

Detailed Instructions for installing the Toshiba RAID Controller Driver on a fresh hard drive

1. Copy the contents of this archive onto a floppy disk, CD, DVD, or USB flash drive.

2. Insert your Microsoft Windows Vista Edition Bootable DVD.

3. Power on your computer and press F12 to display the boot menu.

4. Choose the option to boot from the CD/DVD drive.

5. On the first setup screen, choose your language options then press "Next".

6. Press "Install Now".

7. Type in your Product Key then press "Next".

8. Accept the license terms by checking the box then press "Next".

9. When asked "What type of installation do you want", press "Custom (advanced)".

10. When asked "Where do you want to install Windows", make sure your media containing the Toshiba RAID drivers is connected to the computer, then click on "Load Driver".

11. Browse to the location you have copied the RAID drivers to then press "OK".

12. Setup will return to the previous screen, but it will show that you have selected the TOSHIBA RAID driver.

13. Make sure the TOSHIBA RAID driver is selected then press "Next".

14. Continue the installation of Windows Vista as normal.

What I would like to know if integrating this driver with vLite will mean that he would not have to do the steps above?

yes, I also use Vlite to intigrate all the drivers my laptop needs, sound, video, wifi. so its ready to go when the install is finished.

I just tested this, and boot.wim did not get updated with the new driver. the other option

is to update boot.wim the hardway.

I just tested the above method, I can see the new driver. but without the hardware I cant

test if it will load at boot.

That is correct, vLite does not integrate textmode for now.

Mainly because Vista has that driver load option so it is not needed. Just copy your driver to some folder before making ISO.
