Windows 2000 and latest rootsupd

Hello Guys,

I tried to include the latest rootsupd with hfslip but Windows Update

always wants to update with an older version.

Then I extracted the file from rootsupd.exe an changed in file rootsupd.inf

these line from

VERSION="16,0,2195,0"

Ver="016"

to

VERSION="9,0,2195,0"

Ver="009"

and installed it via right click on rootsupd.inf.

Now Window Update is happy.

Is this a good way to update Root Certificates?

If so would it be possible to change hfslip for changing the rootsupd.inf automatically?

This needs to be tested thoroughly. Installing the wrong Roots Update can cause Windows to fail to boot completely.
