ok guys, please note that there is found a bug in the patch.

it will only work on admin accounts, not the patcher, but the patched file itself...

yeah, i know, its really weird man.

we are investigating it now.

stay tuned.

:blushing: ok, maybe i was a bit to overconfident...

i checked it on my testbox, and it worked there, but when i tested it on my english testbox, it didnt...

so what the hell is going on here? i dont know.

you dont have a problem if your on a normal account, but on a restricted one, it errors up your explorer!!!

so, maybe not fixed then... but if its the problem of the patch itselfor some settings in Windows...

i really dont know, i checked a few pre patched uxthemes, and they all have the same patched code :S

i will report back...

oke news flash...

the hexdata is correct, so i am not being overconfident... :D

BUT the automated process makes it work only on a admin account, why?

i really dont know, if i compare the auto patched and hand patched file, they are identical.

so it beats me...

still searching though.

Thanks Damian and marxo! After installing SP3 my desktop looked kinda... dull. But not anymore! Using Finnish XP, btw.

Hope you manage to find a fix for the limited user account problem. As a workaround I suppose I'll just have to promote the lua to admin account.

This works fine for my admin account but my limited user account crashes explorer and spits out and error message - 0xc0000022. If I make the account admin it then works fine but revert it back and it crashes again.

It's a permissions issue, apparently the patcher messes them up for the dll. Make sure that the Users and Power Users groups have the Read and Execute permission set.

Upd. not the dll itself, but the temporary .dll.new it creates.

so ullfurinn, what do you think i can do about it?

any help is welcome man :D

Make sure you set the right permissions on the file you create? I don't know the details, I don't do native Windows programming.

The least you can do is leave more instructions for users, of course :P

Hey Damian,

I can only download the "Character Creator Studio". This isn't really an UXtheme-Patch. Do have the wrong link or do I make another mistake?

So far, it seems I cannot use custom themes with XP SP 3...

Thanks in advance,

Volki

Thanks, mate!

Works really fine!

(Though I still don't know where to find the Windows Version, as it states "Version 5.1.2600" etc. here)

Nevertheless, my old style ("Luna Royale Black") works.

Thanks again!
