Windows Vista Ultimate. How can I get my thousands of Pictures in my default pictures folder in My Documents to show as actual pictures instead of as icons? It is defaulting to ACDSee.

especially difficult when uploading pics to websites as i cannot see to choose.

Can anyone help please?

On the top, click the arrow next to "Views" and choose large or extra large icons, whichever best suits you and your resolution.

Chnage them from icons to thumbnail views. It will turn them into squares about 4 times the size of a normal icon. Its under the change view thing along with details, list, etc.

That is indeed the option for XP but Vista's menu is laid out differently.

Also, after changing to Large or Extra Large Icons, there is a period of time before the icon changes from the default picture icon to a preview of the image.

It takes a period of time because it is generating thumbnails for all of your pics. The more the pictures, the longer it will take.
