"WMP11 RMI-error" Solved

I had been reading a problem with WMP 11 in Vista about the RMI-error here:

When attempting to play MIDI files with extension .rmi in WMP11 in Vista, and error message appears.

I have also experienced this problem with Windows Media Player 11 in Vista Home Basic edition. The solution, install Vista Service Pack 1. After the installation of Vista SP1, WMP11 can now play .RMI files. Seems like there were missing registry entries or some missing wmp audio codecs for playing certain MIDI files in the original release of Vista.

So, LeoTheBeo, if you are out there listening, install Vista SP1 and the RMI-error problem should be resolved.
