Recommended Components for Removal.

Featured Replies

Hello,

I want to ask more experienced in "vliteing" which components of vista are safe to be removed? :)

regards.

Depends on your needs. Start by selecting Recommended compatibility, remove all components that you want to remove or not sure what they are and test for a few days, don't activate, you have 30 days trial.

What do you use the computer for; what do you want to keep?

How about languages (chinese, japanese). Can I remove them safely?

If I want Chinese websites to display using chinese characters, do I still need to remove them?

also in winxp, I am able to type chinese characters using an english keyboard by adding the chinese keyboard (IME?). I want to use this feature in vista and wondering if I can remove the language without affecting such.

thank you.

jarthel, obviously you need Chinese :)

Keep it. And that Text something component in languages as well, to be on the safe side regarding typing.
