I have two telephone devices in one phone dialup line (one phone number) in my home, so that when I open the one telephone, I can hear the person that speaks on the other thelephone.

Is there a way to prevent/block this? I mean when a telephone is opened, the other telephone should NOT hear the person speaking

Not that I know of. The only way to do this would probably be to do any of the following:

1. Disconnect the second phone.

2. Get a second line and assign the second phone to use only that line.

3. Install a PBX system - probably not worth the the money, especially with only two phones. However, you can probably try using something like Asterisk. http://www.asterisk.org/

There are also "home-phone-center" units that cost about 50 to 100 bucks, but I think it´s time to go digital now... I would ask at your locale phone shop.
