ashcroftsfinest Posted February 8, 2008 Posted February 8, 2008 Is there any way to include the settings from IEAK into setup? I am installing Win2k with IE6 and would like to have the custom settings applied during setup. Has anyone done anything similar to this or is there a better way to apply the settings?
Tomcat76 Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 Just put BRANDING.CAB in the HFCABS folder. IEAK6 stores the custom settings in extra INF files in that package, and these are handled by HFSLIP if existent.
ashcroftsfinest Posted February 26, 2008 Author Posted February 26, 2008 I did try placing the branding.cab in the hfcabs folder, I also replaced all of the other IE6 Files with those from IEAK, I then deleted the _IE6_HFSLIP, _IE6b_HFSLIP, and _OE6_HFSLIP files and ran hfslip again with the same result, everything works and install great but It's not using the proxy settings from branding.cab. Is there anything else I need to do if I'm rerunning hfslip with the source or sourcess folders for this to work?
Tomcat76 Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 The proxy settings are stored in INSTALL.INS and the HTTP 1.1 settings in inetset.inf if you enabled those. Can you check that the INSTALL.IN_ file in SOURCESS\I386 resembles the one from BRANDING.CAB?
ashcroftsfinest Posted March 3, 2008 Author Posted March 3, 2008 I got this working by extracting install.ins from branding.cab and putting a copy in $oem$, you then need to add the proper lines to your winnt.sif file to have setup use the file. Thanks to everyone that replied and helped.
