Problem with unattended install cd

ok well my last post didn't get much help. I will admit i didn't give much information. so let me recap.

I did everything in the beginner section, meaning i only added the hotfixes into the cd, nothing more. I already have a SP2 CD from dell.

It reformats the hdd, copys all the files over to start the install, reboots, shows the windows startup loading screen and then it stops.

I get the basic screen you get when windows needs to chkdsk on your disk every once in a while but it says "windows will have to restart......." and then it's a endlees loop of restarting getting nowhere.

I not sure what the problem is.

But I would try installing it in atended mode

ie without the winnt.sif or change the

Autopartition=1 to 0 and Repartition=yes to no.

Or try chaning one thing at a time.

because the problem seems to be with partitioning/formatting

your disk.

I don't use Nlite so I can't be much help with it.

And don't knoew if your problem is with Nlite.

You may want to post in the Nlite forum. and make sure

your using the latest version.

Ok so i went back in redid my disc. now my system hangs up at the installing devices part of the gui installitaion.

I diddn't change much except for the fact that i don't have a WINNT.sif file. Am i not seeing something?

Did you remove anything with nlite?

Do you get any Stop error messages.

One thing I'd try is removing any

devices I could such as USB prointers

etc. I'd somethings have that problem with

a Gateway computer but that was with

their restore disk not an unattended one.

OK, i went and took out the .Net hotfixes and redid my image.

I'm running it on VMware Player and it currently at the copying files stage.

will post back with more info (i.e. if it hangs or etc.)

Ok here's the deal. I'm giving up on the unattended install for this cd. I went through all of my cd's i had and found a old Windows Pro sp1 install disc. i'm gonna start using Pro instaed of Home. I'm gonna abandon this topic and prob start another when i come across errors with my unattended pro install disc.

however, shouldn't they pretty much be the same? like it dosn't matter which one i was installing? if i have the codes wrong i'll still get the same error right?

ok well i redid my install disc. this time i didn't add my hotfixes. so far it's working. so it has to be one of the hot fixes. any ideas on how to find out which one without out adding one at a time?

I'd add just the critical updatresand if that worked add teh other a

group at a time, ie WMP11 files etc.

If I remember correctly I had a problem integrating WMP11 and

ended up using one of the switchless installers abvailable.

There are a couple available in application addons under the nlite forum

ok i must be stupid. it's still not working now. i've given up on adding the hotfixes. so that eliminates that error. but i then get this error (see the error.jpg)
