You can install SP1, and then install any number of post-SP1 hotfixes without having to restart the computer in between. Otherwise, yes it's needed. Glenn9999 Posted February 5, 2008 Share Posted February 5, 2008 As a bit tighter rule, my understanding was that anything released before March 2003 has the potential to need QCHAIN. To be safe, I always interpreted that to mean anything that is not Windows XP Service Pack 2 just to be on the safe side, since Windows XP Service Pack 1 was released on September 9, 2002.Download QCHAIN.EXE here.
