XP x64 vs Server 2003 x64

Featured Replies

This forum seems to bash less on folks who use "server" OSes for games, so I decided to ask the question: should I use XP x64 or Server 2003 x64 for games? I have both. The reason for an x64 OS is for 4gb or more of RAM. Please give me your thoughts.

If you can find essential x64 drivers for your PC then go with XP x64. I did and I'm happy with it.

XP64 is built on the Server 2003 x64 codebase, and is in fact little more than a workstation version of Server 2003.

You're asking to choose between two of the same things.

Yeah its about the same really...

The main consideration would be cost XP is affordable (Even 64bit) 2003 SERVER is quite expensive...

HHEHEHHEHEHEH Couldn't resist.

Cheapest one I could find was a 10 license bundle for $900 bucks... (Windows server 2003)

Where as XP 64x was $135 bucks new for a full license...
