[Guide] Download Firefox 2.0 in Windows Vista without Touching IE7, or Any Other Browser

1) Type cmd in the Search box under the Start menu n right click the selected result and select Run as administrator.

2) Now type following command in Command Prompt

ftp ftp.osuosl.org

You will be asked for your user name, and just type anonymous, and specify a password. Simply pressing Enter will deal with the password request, and you have logged in successfully.

3) Now, type

cd /pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/2.0.0.11/win32/en-US/

and press Enter.

4) Then type mget *.exe to access Firefox Setup 2.0.0.11.exe. After the download will be completed, type "Firefox Setup 2.0.0.11.exe" with the quotes to install the open source browser.

/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/latest/win32/en-US

also in case your not into Firefox either but still would like to avoid IE7:

sure thing. just putting in my 2 cents. this method also works well for recovering a system that cannot start IE for whatever reason so you you can get on the web and look for help with fixing IE
