CaptainStacks
Hi everyone.I recently got a notice in the mail informing me that I have DSL access in my area. This is a major change from the 56k I've been using since I first got a computer. Now comes the issue of the modem I want to use. The Qwest service I'll be subscribing to will issue me an ActionTec DSL modem. I've heard nothing but bad things about this type of modem, and I want to buy a different modem. Can anyone recommend a decent dsl modem to buy? I have no background in DSL modems, so I'm going a little blindly here, if anyone can recommend a DSL modem, I'd greatly appreciate it.Thanks, CaptainStacks
Tarun
Though I have cable Internet, I use the one provided from the ISP. If anything goes wrong I can just swap it for a new one so I know I'll always have one that works.
CaptainStacks
The ActionTec modem is fine for normal webbrowsing but it doesn't forward ports. If I can get the modem real cheap, I might get it, but I'm more focused on getting a different modem.
