Nepsyde Posted November 1, 2007 Posted November 1, 2007 (edited) k i have 2 computers, i am currently trying vista on both computers but only one thing is letting me down... the drivers for vista. I haven't used vista on my old computer yet (parents use it, and would only upgrade if i had the exact drivers for it). i am not sure but wasn't geforce 6 drivers used to work on geforce 4? erm.. let me explain with this : http://www.nvidia.com/object/81.85_winxp_32_supported.html (sorry linking wasn't working). my question is can i use my geforce 6 drivers (for vista) on the GeForce4 (GeForce4 MX Integrated graphics) on vista, i would test it but i will have around 4 people nagging me for wrecking their computers. redxii Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 (edited) Because of "Unified Driver Architecture" it should work, but if you use their installer it will fail since the GF4 MX won't be listed on nv4_disp.inf. Supported can mean "don't come to us with your problems if your card isn't listed". You can find modded nv4_disp infs at laptopvideo2go.com to accept more video cards or try installing through device manager, using WinRAR or 7zip to extract the files from the setup file.Worst case scenario, all you have to do is launch safe mode and uninstall the driver. PC_LOAD_LETTER Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 (edited) http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/drivers/vistagrab 165.01, Extract it, then replace the nv4_disp.inf in the extracted folder with The Modified INFrun the setup.exe in that folder and tada! you have the latest nvidia drivers on your Geforce 4 cardYou can also use the INF enhancer to create a custom INF that will install the drivers with some compatiblity/performance tweakshttp://www.laptopvideo2go.com/enhancer--EDIT-- sorry redxii, didnt see your post there Edited November 2, 2007 by geek
