Hello, everyone.

I have a question about something.

Can anyone please help me use Resource hacker to edit/modify the text/string of Setup.exe of Original XP CD in really detailed description?

I was trying to do it for myself like few months, but I have no progress on it.

Which Text string are you trying to edit???

What are you looking for in your final Setup.exe???

Most of the time its easier just to make a new Setup.exe using Autorun Studio or some similar program (you could use Flash, or some other method as well to create an EXE that can run other programs)

Oh, thanks for reply and sorry for late reply.

I was kinda busy at school stuffs.

This bottom is what i asked in this forum before.

Does anyone know how to do this?

I am talking about modifying the XP CD: Like I put XP CD, it runs and shows up the some screens and want change the strings in the CD.

What I want to do is/are:

1. Delete the text string, "Learn more about the setup process," and its related page(s) and text string(s).

2. Delete the text string, "Check systemPut the text string, and its related page(s) and text string(s).

3. Put the text string, "Install Windows XP" text string that goes second page that has various strings

versions of XPs.

4. Put the text string, "Perform addtional tasks", under "Install Windows XP" text string

and its related page(s) and text string(s).

5. Put the text string, "Boot from UBCD for Windows", under "Perform addtional tasks" text string.

6. Put the text string, "Boot from Hard Drive", under "Boot from UBCD for Windows" text string.

7. Put the text string, "Reboot", under "Boot from Hard Drive" text string.

And in case nobody understands what I'm saying, I attach the screenshot what I mean.

Hahaha, thanks.

And your playing around with me, right?

Because I don't see screen shot about it now.

Can you give me advise about what I asked about?

And here is the screen shot that i mentioned about.

Yep, it was just a small joke.

Sorry, I am not much into this kind of resource editing, maybe you can find some ideas in these elder threads:

though everyone seem to hint that only minor mods can be made to original setup.exe through resource hacker.
