ricksheppard
Hi, I'm new to nLite so I have a n00b question.Does the hotfix installation order matter?
extrabigmehdi
hi,I've read somewhere that nlite is "smart" enough to detect the right order of integration, so you don't have have to worry
ricksheppard
sounds good. I'll give it a try.
mara-
I don't agree. It's true that nLite is "smart" but not completely. Just sort updates by date to be safe.Cheers
Sancho
I see sorting by dates to be the wrong suggestion, considering the naming schemes could either go by full month name or by the number, thus negating your efforts. I don't know why it seems like I am the only one noticing this.I sort it by name, because the updates are all kbxxxxxx, which is the order of creation according to MS, so it should follow a progressive dateline pretty closely. There can be strays, though, so for instance I would make sure IE7 is the first one in the list and then any updates are after it.
Legolash2o
i sort by KBxxxxxx name too and IE7 first Edited October 28, 2007 by legolash2o
nuhi
I would suggest by date, some by KB number, you see nLite is smart and doesn't sort But it does automatically first integrate update packs, then hotfixes, regardless of global order.
